Brenda Tuxford Gallery - 2025 Call for Exhibition Proposals

Ends on

Brenda Tuxford Gallery is accepting exhibition proposals from community members for the first half of 2025.

Submit a proposal for a gallery exhibition by January 10 at midnight deadline for a chance to share your creative vision with an audience!

Ink People Center for the Arts’ 640 square foot exhibition space in the heart of the Eureka Cultural Arts District is dedicated to creating opportunities for local and regional artists. Our curatorial perspective prioritizes creativity, collaboration, accessibility, and contemporary relevance.

Our gallery theme for 2025 is "Change and Exchange."  We invite proposals that connect to these themes in innovative and engaging ways. Brenda Tuxford Gallery and the Ink People seek to elevate original perspectives by local artists, scientists, activists, culture bearers and creative professionals on topics that touch local lives.

Application review will be conducted on January 15 by a panel of Ink People staff and local arts and culture leaders. Proposal authors will be contacted on January 17 after proposal selection is complete. Please contact gallery@inkpeople.org with questions or requests for additional information.

Note: At this time, we are only able to accept applications for February through June, but we will be planning as soon as possible for the latter half of the year. Applications for this round may be considered for July-December 2025 if not accepted for February-June.

Important! Please read before you apply:

* The Brenda Tuxford Gallery does not schedule solo shows. We welcome proposals for group shows, exhibitions featuring work by two or more artists, and works by artists' collectives. You may propose a show that includes a call for art.

* Proposals for exhibitions containing a significant percentage of artworks that have previously been shown in other local venues within the last five years are not eligible.

* Exhibition content and design are subject to approval by the Ink People Center for the Arts Executive Director and the Gallery Coordinator.

* Should your proposal be accepted, you will be responsible for producing an exhibition within the agreed-upon time frame, conforming to the specifications of the description that was originally provided. Changing exhibition dates and substituting alternate exhibition topics is not permitted.

* Should your proposal be accepted, you will be responsible for working in collaboration with the Gallery Coordinator and remaining in communication with the Coordinator and other Ink People staff as needed throughout the period before, during, and after the exhibition to publicize, install, and de-install the artwork, in accordance with the timeline that gallery staff provide. If accepted, gallery curators will sign an agreement that outlines curator responsibilities.
